Description

Intel Supply Connections - Promoting Women at the Heart of Economic Growth

It’s no secret that healthy competition leads to better products and services and a strengthened economy. Entrepreneurs have always been the catalysts for economic growth, and Intel has long been a champion of their efforts. To continue this tradition, Intel provides individuals with the technological skills, literacy and resources they need to help their businesses succeed. Along with this we are dedicated to building an innovative and diverse supply chain reflecting the market and supporting the communities we work in. We believe that when an individual’s ideas are given the chance to flourish, the results are overwhelmingly positive for the entire community. Intel was created by entrepreneurs and supported by the people who believed in them. In the United Kingdom we are driving a new initiative in the supply chain and giving individuals the skills to compete in any economy.

To celebrate International Women’s Day, we would like to invite you and a colleague to our first conference of 2015 which will include a workshop on social media and a panel discussion session with new suppliers to Intel.

Date: Thursday 12th March
Time: 10.00am to 1.30pm (with an option to take a tour of Bletchley Park at 1.30 - 2.30pm)
Venue: Bletchley Park

This event is aimed at majority owned women's businesses - those that are minimum 51% owned by one or more women - who provide products and services in the following sectors: marketing, HR, recruitment, catering, training, advertising, merchandise, events, corporate services, facilities management, legal and technology. If your business falls into another sector and you are interested in attending, please email Intel via womensupplychain@intel.com.

Workshop
:
Gail Hanlon, Marketing Specialist at Intel EMEA will host a master class on social media. You will discover how to build a social media strategy and how to use social media to achieve the objective of either building your brand or creating sales interest. And you will learn tips and techniques for getting the most from the different platforms, and how to ensure your marketing is fully integrated.

Panel Discussion:

We have put together a diverse panel of new suppliers to Intel to share their experience of working with Intel to date and who can answer any of your questions. The panel are:
Ian Platt, Head of Supply Chain Services at BaxterStorey
Elizabeth Heron, Managing Director of HAMG360
Gill Thorpe, Managing Director of The Sourcing Team
Michelle Palmer, Managing Director of Canary Wharf & City

HAMG360, The Sourcing Team and Canary Wharf & City are all WEConnect International certified women-owned businesses and BaxterStorey are a WEConnect International corporate member.

Bletchley Park:
Bletchley Park was the central location for the UK's code breaking efforts during WW2. It is not well-known that women made up the majority of the personnel and made a significant contribution to the code breaking. If you would like to find out more, watch this BCS video about the Women of Station X.
